I oversee tech capabilities and communities for the organisation. I lead the Biodata Developers’ (BioDev) Network for open and accessible science through bold initiatives across key technology areas to build new capabilities, promote knowledge sharing and enhance thought leadership.
I hold a PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology with a minor in Statistics from the Iowa State University, USA. Before joining Sanger in 2021, I worked at the University of Sydney in Australia.
My career has spanned from lab work and bioinformatics research in structural biology and genomics, through to pipeline development and public engagement. I am passionate about promoting public awareness about scientific research and increasing diversity in science. I am a member of the UK Young Academy, a STEM Ambassador, and also serves on the local steering committees for the Technician Commitment, Gender Equity Network, and Bioinformatics Workflows Community.
