I am a Senior Technical specialist in the Garnett team. My work includes constructing pooled guide RNA Libraries, Recombineering, Gateway cloning, and screening CRISPR libraries. I joined the Sanger in 2006 after having completed my MSc in Cell and Tissue Engineering (with a thesis on the application of 3D scaffolds to grow neuronal cells). Prior to this, I practised medicine following her MBBS and MD (Physiology). Since 2006, I have gained extensive experience in gene targeting from my work on the EUCOMM/ KOMP project with Bill Skarnes (having constructed about 13000 vectors), construction of donor plasmids for human IPS projects (deletion and conditional vectors), and vectors for the PlasmoGem project (long homology arm and tagging vectors).
