Transcription factors and their role in disease
Transcription factors are key molecules in orchestrating correct gene expression programmes at the correct time. How they operate and how they are regulated are therefore key to understanding their effect in health and disease. I use multi-omic approaches e.g. ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq to ascertain their genome-wide binding profiles. Currently I am using single-cell approaches at scale to profile the effects of transcription factors expression on gene expression. Here I am exploiting AI to uncover the transcription factor syntax that govern key gene expression programmes.
