Visiting Postdoctoral Clinical Fellow
About me
I am a medical doctor and postdoctoral researcher. I began an MBBS in Medicine at UCL in 2013. In 2017, I transferred to the UCL MB/PhD programme, integrating a PhD in lymphatic vessel biology under the supervision of Professor David Long, which included a UCL Bogue Research Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Canada.
Since graduating from UCL, I have joined the Specialised Foundation Programme at the University of Cambridge, working as a resident doctor whilst undertaking postdoctoral research between the Wellcome Sanger Institute and UCL.
My research
Thus far, I have used advanced biomedical imaging technologies and single-cell genomics to study lymphatic vessels in the developing kidney and during polycystic kidney disease, chronic transplant rejection and renal cancer.
I also collaborate with researchers and clinicians within the UK and beyond in applying next-generation techniques to profile the cellular and molecular basis of human diseases.
During my time in Lotfollahi Group in the Celluar Genetics Programme, I am refining workflows to reproducibly integrate and annotate spatial transcriptomics data. These will serve as inputs for developing machine learning frameworks to answer clinically relevant questions.
