My PhD project explored the role of long noncoding RNAs in the parasite that causes malaria (Plasmodium falciparum). I combined both bioinformatics and experimental approaches to their study. The key findings of my work include:
- generating a lncRNA annotation
- developing CRISPR-based tools
- disrupting lncRNAs with CRISPR-based approaches
- characterising P. falciparum lncRNAs
