CTTV organoids project: generation and characterisation of intestinal organoids from biopsies taken from healthy individials and patients with early onset irritable bowel disease (IBD). The organoids will then be used as a model for IBD research.

At the start of 2015 I transferred to the Pathogens group to support the CTTV organoids project. The work involves the generation and characterisation of intestinal organoids from biopsies taken from healthy individials and patients with early onset irritable bowel disease (IBD). The generation of organoids lines began in March 2015.

I joined the Sanger Institute in 2012 working in Cellular Generation and Phenotyping (CGaP) as part of the phenotyping team. As part of my job I helped to develop a QC imaging assay using the cellomics arrayscan for the HIPSCI project. I also worked on the Pathogen’s project differentiaion mouse embryonic stem cells into macrophages. The macrophages were then put through a panel of stimuli and several endpoint assays carried out including: immunofluorescent imaging, RNA seq, flow cytometry and Luminex.
