Dr Nana-Jane Chipampe is a Postdoctoral Scientist, IBMS Fellow, and registered Biomedical Scientist (HCPC, Science Council). Her research applies Histopathological, Spatial Genomics and Immuno-Oncology multiplex staining techniques to a variety of human tissue samples and pluripotent stem cell-derived skin organoid models. Utilising her expertise and training in Histopathology, Nana-Jane generates 3D cellular maps to identify spatial transcriptomic scientific insights of tissue organisation, cell-cell communication, and pathologies within Human Embryonic Development. Additionally, she has overseen the installation, optimisation and validation of the multi-plex immunofluoresence RareCyte Orion microscope. The microscopic instrument aids spatial analysis within a variety of human tissue samples, and is available for research groups across campus to use.    Nana-Jane is particularly excited by the emergence of spatial transcriptomic tools in analysing the genomic information of cells in their native tissue environment. She believes such will shape future research questions, and biology perspectives to further understand diagnoses, development, and disease.

Postdoc Rep Committee

Nana-Jane is on the Postdoctoral Committee which organises networking, social, retreats & events bringing Postdocs together and provides a representative voice for the wider Postdoc community across the Wellcome Genome Campus.
