I am a post-doctoral fellow in Dr Oliver Billker’s lab investigating the P. berghei metabolic pathways using a high-throughput reverse genetics approach.

I am a microbiologist with expertise in Plasmodium berghei genetics. I joined Malaria research during my Master’s degree at University of Lisbon. My main aim was to study the control of gene expression by translation repression of ApiAP2 transcription factors, in P. berghei. In October 2010 I joined the Evimalar PhD programme, under the supervision of Dr. Oliver Billker and Dr. Christian Doerig, at Sanger Institute. I have graduated in July 2015 and I am currently a post-doctoral fellow in Dr Oliver Billker’s lab investigating P. berghei metabolic pathways using a high-throughput reverse genetics approach.
