I conducted my doctoral work at the Amsterdam UMC and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, where I studied the immunomodulatory role of the intestinal microbiota in the protection against respiratory tract infections.
I’ve been recently awarded a Niels Stensen Fellowship, which has allowed me to pause my clinical training and work as a postdoctoral researcher at the lab of Trevor Lawley. Here, I’m hoping to identify microbiota-derived compounds that might benefit patients most vulnerable to severe outcomes from infectious diseases
