Elena Winheim is a postdoctoral fellow in the Haniffa lab who is using single-cell technologies to understand the development and function of immune cells in human skin.

Elena is analysing immune cells from human skin, and skin organoids using single-cell sequencing techniques to understand their relevance and function during development and aging. In 2022, she received her PhD in immunology from Ludwig Maximilians University, exploring the function of dendritic cells and monocytes in antiviral immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 and to yellow fever vaccine virus.
