She is responsible for providing support to the Director of the Genomic Surveillance Unit (GSU) in strategic planning and implementations. Alongside providing assurance to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the GSU that the Unit operates on a financially viable basis, ensures compliance with all internal policies, processes and procedures and navigates the operational requirements of working with partners and managing exceptions to minimise risk.
With an awareness of the bigger picture across Sanger and in the context of genomics and global health, she develops and implement proportional and pragmatic systems that facilitate the international-scale projects and partnerships necessary to become the world leader in delivering longitudinal genomic data on important pathogen and vector species
