George heads the Haematological Cancer Genetics Group at the Sanger Institute and is member of Faculty at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. His team studies blood cancers with a particular focus on myeloid leukaemias their pathogenesis, clonal evolution and the development of new anti-leukaemia treatments. Additionally, they develop and apply novel molecular methodologies for the diagnosis, classification and treatment of haematological cancers.
