Miss Ellie Tuck

Technical Specialist

Ellie is a Technical Specialist working in the neuroscience field within the Open Targets initiative. She is currently performing whole-genome CRISPR screens to identify novel therapeutic targets associated with autophagy and lysosomal dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases.

Ellie began her career at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute with Prof. Seth Grant, where she worked on projects modelling neurodevelopment, in particular the relationship between multiprotein post synaptic protein complexes and changes in neuroplasticity and behaviour.

In 2015 Ellie joined Prof. Rick Livesey’s Group at the Gurdon Institute in Cambridge, where she specialised in modelling of neurodegenerative disease in human iPSC derived neuronal systems.

Ellie is focused on understanding the interactions between cellular phenotypes common to neurodegenerative diseases and the identification of gene targets essential to the reversal of disease related cellular dysfunction.
