Tabea completed her Bachelor studies at the University of Göttingen (Prof. Peter Burfeind lab) with a thesis project investigating the role of cycline D in prostate cancer using inducible knockdown systems. During her subsequent Master in Molecular Biosciences with Major in Cancer Biology at the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center she rotated at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston (Dr. Stephanie Dougan lab) studying polarization of BMDMs in prostate cancer. In her final thesis project performed at the National Center for Tumor Diseases Heidelberg (Prof. Hanno Glimm lab) she established and functionally characterized CRC spheroids containing an inducible knockdown or CRISPR-mediated knockout of different metabolism-related genes.
